Betty James, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in psychotherapy for adults and kids with depression, anxiety, self-esteem difficulties, problems coping with trauma, relationship issues, and general life stressors. I offer a safe non-judgmental space where you can openly explore your thoughts and feelings to make sense of them. I work with people who feel frustrated and stuck in one or more areas of their life. I understand the anxiety, hurt and sadness triggered by significant life events and bring many years of experience successfully guiding people through rough and distressing emotional times. My approach to therapy is rooted in cognitive behavioral theory (CBT) but personalized to address each individual's strengths, needs, and goals.

No two people are alike and everyone comes to therapy for different reasons. We will work together to identify your individual needs and come up with a collaborative plan that will help you reach your greatest potential.

Who you are today has everything to do with yesterday. By building a professional, mutually trusting, therapeutic relationship. I can help you explore your past. Together we can discover how to better manage your feelings and accept your strengths and weaknesses. People who come for Psychotherapy truly learn to live a more peaceful, joyful life. My goal is to continue enriching, enlightening and gratifying all clients.

Rebecca Webster, MA

Master Level Clinican

Most of us, at some point in our lives, feel stuck or face problems that feel overwhelming. Whether you are struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, relationship strain, work/school difficulty, health issues, loss or addiction, I will work to ease you through this difficult period. Learning to live more fully and take better care of ourselves should be positive, fulfilling and empowering. Using your strengths, my aim is to help you build a healthier and more satisfying life. This may involve changing thoughts, habits and emotional patterns that no longer serve you, while cultivating self-compassion and acceptance for those things you cannot change.

My style is warm, collaborative and goal-oriented. Together, we will work to understand and cope with your unique situation, while learning skills that reduce distress. Combining psychodynamic approaches with cognitive behavioral, motivational, interpersonal, emotion-focused and mindfulness-based treatment, I am flexible and adjust my approach to meet your needs.

My priority is to create a practice that is flexible and meets the individual needs of the clients I work with. I work with clients individually, in couples, or in groups, and offer flexible scheduling.

Sonia Abel, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Sonia Abel has a master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, California. She has over fifteen years of experience counseling a diverse clientele of all ages, ethnicities, and sexual and gender orientations.

She has experience working with adults with trauma from past abuse, bullying, and dysfunctional families. She also is passionate about working with issues that come up for adults during periods of transition such as being away from home for the first time in college, a new job or new relationships. Sonia has extensive experience in working with clients with a family history of mental health conditions including all forms of anxiety- notably social anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder, depression, bipolar disorder and post- traumatic stress disorder.

Sonia believes that hurtful experiences from our past can become problematic subconscious beliefs, feelings, and behaviors that hold us back from our essential selves and our true potential. She uses a variety of healing modalities to create a safe, nurturing, and non-judgmental environment to facilitate personal growth.

She is a holistic therapist and takes the whole being into consideration using mind, body, and spiritual techniques to utilize the Self’s natural inherent drive toward wholeness. Sonia also uses a treatment modality called Internal Family Systems which explores how the various parts of our psyche can create conflict and sabotage our efforts in living our best life. The next step is learning how to integrate those parts to become our authentic self. She is also passionate about mindfulness based cognitive behavioral therapy which explores how negative thoughts and feelings impact our behavior and facilitates new ways of thinking while practicing more positive life-affirming ways of being.
